Mission Statement

The Technology, Media and Telecommunications Committee(TMT) brings together three thriving and relevant areas of practice:

• Technology, the practical application of science and technology to commerce or industry;
• Media, the generation and dissemination of content, and;
• Telecommunications, the process of information transfer through terrestrial and extra-terrestrial interfaces.  It provides the perfect opportunity for advocates & solicitors, corporate counsel, business lawyers and industry players to interact across the global divide for purposes of networking, sharing and drawing on experiences, skills and know-how.

Our Committee

IPBA members wishing to contribute to the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Committee are invited to contact the Chair or any of the Vice-Chairs with any suggestions or requests and to attend the Committee meeting at the annual conference.

The Committee organises programs for each annual meeting of the IPBA befitting the conference theme and the region in which the conference is held. Over the years, it has covered topics from digital currency, blockchain, data protection, mobile payments, IoT (Internet of Things), OSS (Open Source Softward), big data to cloud computing  - our aim is to introduce and spark discussion over the issues that will come to dominate TMT laws in the years to come.
