Mission Statement
The Corporate Counsel Committee provides a professional and congenial forum for in house lawyers in the Asia-Pacific region and abroad to interact with one another as well as with lawyers in private practice. Through this network, the committee aims to educate and inform in-house professionals based in and outside the region to identify best practice in operating and managing legal departments in order to collaborate successfully with bar associations and other corporate counsel.
The Corporate Counsel Committee focuses on the growing number of lawyers who work in different fields in companies, administrations and organizations including various job profiles. It is intended to ensure that the voice of corporate counsels is considered strongly in relation to rulemaking and legislation of concern.
Our Committee
The Corporate Counsel Committee presents single or joint sessions on various topics such as “The Role of the Legal Counsel in Handling Crisis in Multiple jurisdictions and Communicating with the Media” and “When Things Go Wrong - Guidance from In-House and Insurance Counsel on Managing Errors and Liabilities”. These two sessions are examples from a prior annual meeting when the audience actively discussed the importance of the role of the corporate counsel as an active part in managing challenges for the purpose of entrepreneurial success.
Both, experienced counsel and new joiners will appreciate the high level of professionalism of all members of IPBA and the variety of topics discussed among those legal experts. The annual conference program including the Corporate Counsel Committee offers attractive sessions in terms of education, orientation and exchange.
