AIJA's 10th Annual Arbitration Conference

AIJA, the International Association of Young Lawyers, invites you to join its 10th Annual Arbitration Conference taking place in Singapore, from 25 to 27 October 2018. Leading arbitration professionals will gather to discuss the latest development in the practice of international arbitration as well as the future of the practice. Early bird fees are available until 4 September.

Dr. Michael Hwang S.C. will open the conference with a ground-breaking keynote on the need for reform on the regulatory framework of counsel’s conduct in international arbitration. Dr. Hwang is one of the most prominent figures in international arbitration in Asia and the world. Former appointments include being President of the Law Society of Singapore, Vice Chairman of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Vice President of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), and a Court Member of the London Court of International Arbitration. He is the Chief Justice of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts.

His keynote will be followed by a wide range of interactive workshops and panels addressing topics such as:

  • The new world order heralded by the leading arbitration institutions
  • Efficiency and costs in international arbitration
  • Role of third party funding in the future of international arbitration
  • Transparency in international arbitration
  • Role of artificial intelligence and blockchain technology in the future of the practice, potential areas of innovation and future trends
