IPBA Membership News

• The IPBA printed Membership Directory has gone to print! You can expect to receive your copy in the mail during the month of July.
• The June 2018 issue of the IPBA Journal has just been completed, too, and you'll receive it during July as well.
• As mentioned at the AGM in Manila by IPBA Immediate Past President Denis McNamara, and reinforced by long-term members who have been very loyal to the IPBA, the IPBA was founded on the Spirit of Katsuura. Although the Association has changed over the years through a wider membership demographic, our incorporation in Singapore in 2015, technological advances, and fluctuating business practices in an ever-changing world; through the diverse goals and legacies of each new Officer and Council member; we remain steadfast in our commitment to the primary purpose of the organization: to provide a forum for lawyers to get together, exchange views and make friends. Join your friends at Singapore 2019, as well as at other IPBA regional events throughout the year!

IPBA Committee News

The IPBA Committee Chairs are now actively compiling candidates to be nominated as Vice-Chairs of their respective committees, or for Chair if their term is ending. If you would like to be considered to take one of the leadership positions, contact the leaders of the committee in which you are interested. You can find all contact information on the IPBA web site.

Programs for the upcoming Annual Meeting and Conference in Singapore (April 25-27, 2019) are being put together by the committees, too. If you would like to contribute to a committee session by helping to plan or by being a speaker, contact the appropriate chair.

• All of IPBA's 23.5 (23 official committees and one Ad Hoc) Committees are planning sessions around the Conference theme of "Technology, Business and Law - Global Perspectives". Following the pattern of previous years, there will be more than fifty 90-minutes sessions.
• The IPBA Scholarship Committee is accepting applications until October 31st for Scholars to be chosen to attend the Conference. Details and the application form can be found on the IPBA web site. The program is funded by generous donations from members in Japan; the Vancouver 2014 host committee, and the famiily of M.S. Lin and provides roundtrip airfare, accommodations, and a 3-Year Term Membership in the IPBA.
