We are together—the Birth of IPBA Shanghai Event Anthem
Shanghai, the most modern metropolis, has gone through 177 years since its opening up in 1843. The natural genes that embrace all rivers and pursue excellence call for the exchange and mutual learning of the rule of law and civilization between China and the rest of the world reveals the spirit of humility, enlightenment and wisdom. That’s why this city calls for international annual conference to be held here. The Inter-Pacific Bar Association, born in Tokyo in 1991, gathers more than 1,200 business lawyer elites from 65 countries and regions on five continents. They uphold the rule of law, they pursue justice, develop and prosper in major economies around the world, and improve the business environment and social harmony. This organization has played an active role and has become an important legal force for the progress of human civilization.
The 30th Annual Meeting & Conference of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) will be held in Shanghai.
The first anthem of annual meeting highlights the cultural confidence
On October 13, 2019, the 2019 Mid-Year Council Meeting of IPBA was held in the famous Italian city of Milan. When then President-Elect Jack Li reported on the progress of the preparations for the Shanghai annual meeting, the first annual meeting anthem became one of his motions. Considering councils and officials at the conference are expecting to have an annual meeting anthem, Shanghai shall become the pioneer.
Recommended by a friend of Jack Li, one of the top ten outstanding young people in Shanghai, Mr. Peng Cheng, a young composer who graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music, wrote the music for the anthem. Peng Cheng is one of the most outstanding figures in the pop music world in China and is popular in Shanghai. The theme song Young Battlefield and song of the show TV program Come on! Good Man and other popular songs are written by Peng Cheng. Xu Qian, a well-known lyricist who also graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, was invited to create lyrics for the song.
Never forget the original for 30 years, carry forward the spirit of Katsuura
In April 1991, the IPBA was established in Tokyo, Japan. The Spirit of Katsuura as the founding spirit for founders was engraved on a stone tablet, which stands still in Katsuura City. It is written on the stone tablet: The characteristics of this association are friendship, ties, candid exchanges of opinions, understanding and tolerance of each other’s opinions, and giving opportunities to express-the Spirit of Katsuura, which is the organization’s Policy and is also the most valuable asset.
The members of the IPBA come from 65 countries and regions on five continents. A group of post-80s and post-90s members are full of youth and spirit. Someone suggested the following lyrics:

On April 29, 2020, the 5 minute-and-3-second anthem We Are Together was released. The anthem is expressed by a natural vocal duet in Chinese and English with beautiful melody and exciting lyrics.
