Hello again from the IPBA!
Wherever you are in the world, we hope that you are taking care to stay cool in the summer heat, or warm in the winter cold.
As you may recall from the last issue of this newsletter, the IPBA became an incorporated entity in Singapore on June 25, 2015. The Officers are busy finalizing some of the administrative issues pertaining to the incorporation of the IPBA. This will not affect your membership benefits at all, but it will strengthen the IPBA in ways you can not directly see. The Officers and IPBA Council members work in the background throughout the year on behalf of all members.

IPBA Membership Directory
The IPBA membership directory is at the printer! Those whose membership was in good standing between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2015 are included in the printed version. Watch for it in your mailbox later in August.
|
You can also access the online membership directory any time of day or night by logging in to the Member Only section from the top page of the IPBA web site using your e-mail address and password. You can search by name, firm name, jurisdiction, committee interest, and more!
Keep your own profile updated so that others can find you easily!
Your IPBA Membership ID number can now be found next to your profile picture on your own member record. Use this number to register for the IPBA Annual Conference at the cheapest rate.

Issues of the IPBA Journal since 2007 can be found in digital format on the IPBA web site.
The June 2015 issue features highlights from the Hong Kong 2015 conference.

IPBA Journal September Issue
Articles and submissions for the September IPBA Journal are now being accepted! The deadline for submission is August 12th.
Guideline for Submissions
-
The article must not have been previously published in any journal or publication.
-
The article must be of good quality both in terms of technical input and topical interest for IPBA members.
-
The article must not be written to publicize the expertise, specialization, or network offices of the writer or the firm at which the writer is based.
-
The article must be concise (2,500 to 3,000 words) and, in any event, not exceed 3,000 words.
-
The article must be written in English, and the author must ensure that it meets international business standards.
-
The article must be written by an IPBA member.
(Co-authors must also be members of IPBA.)

IPBA Regional Conference in Dubai
IPBA invites you to the IPBA Regional Conference in Dubai: "Arbitration At the Crossroads: Middle East, Africa, and Asia". This event is open to the public, so pass this along to your collegues and business associates, too.

IPBA 26th Annual Meeting and Conference in Kuala Lumpur
The Plenary Session and specialist committee sessions will focus on the conference theme of "Diverse Challenges, Global Solutions". Important matters to note now:

The IPBA Scholarship Committee is accepting applications! Check the IPBA web site Scholarship page for the application and procedure and to download an application. This is open to all qualified lawyers, so pass on the information to anyone you think may be interested.

IPBA has partnered with ILO (International Law Office) to bring you the Lexology Newsstand. This newsfeed gets delivered to your e-mail inbox several times a week. You can filter the content to that which is appropriate to your jurisdiction or practice area. IPBA members who receive it now appreciate the timely nature of the information, as well as the personalized relevance of the articles.
We are in the process of adding more members to the list of those receiving the newsstand, so if you aren't receiving the newsstand already, contact the IPBA Secretariat!
