Dear members,
Greetings from the IPBA!
Depending on where you are in the world, it is either starting to get warmer into spring or cooler into autumn. On a human level, the change of season can lead us to reassess our lives or surroundings, and spur us to make changes. This is true for a living association such as the IPBA, too! The leadership is constantly thinking of ways to improve member benefits and general policies that will help keep us healthy, and promote our growth and prosperity.
One way to hear more about the business of the association is to attend the Annual General Meeting on the last day of the Annual Conference. This year, the AGM will be held on Saturday, May 9th, 10:30am-12:00pm. You should have received an e-mail message, and will soon receive a letter in the mail, announcing the topics that will be discussed for ratification by IPBA members. In addition to the approval of nominees for IPBA Officer and other leadership positions, a major item to be presented in May is the incorporation of the IPBA, which has been discussed among the Council and other IPBA leadership for the past two years. We encourage all IPBA members to attend the AGM!

Thank you to those of you who have already paid your dues for 2015! We accept payment for 2015 dues until March 31st. Remember that you need to have paid your dues for 2015 in order to take advantage of the cheapest registration rates for the IPBA 25th Annual Meeting and Conference in Hong Kong. Please do not hesitate to contact the IPBA Secretariat if you have any questions about your membership.

IPBA Best Paper Prize 2015
All IPBA members who register for the IPBA 25th Annual Meeting and Conference in Hong Kong are eligible to submit a paper to the Best Paper Prize 2015 competition! This is the fourth year of the competition, which gets more heated every year. Winners are presented with a certificate by the IPBA President at the Annual Conference, and the overall winning paper will be published in the IPBA Journal. See the regulations for entry on the IPBA web site.

Local Activities: Japan IPBA Member Get-together
On February 12th and 13th, IPBA Japan members in Tokyo and Osaka met in their respective regions to hear about the business of the association in 2014, and upcoming activities for 2015. Huen Wong and Annie Tsoi of the Hong Kong Annual Conference Host Committee also joined to give a talk on arbitration, and to explain more about the upcoming conference and the charms of Hong Kong. Afterwards, the delegates enjoyed a nice buffet and free-flowing beverages.
Huen and his team will be visiting other cities, such as Singapore and New Delhi, in the coming weeks and months leading to the conference.

Regional Activities: IPBA Regional Conference in conjunction with the Mid-Year Council Meeting
On October 26th this year, the IPBA will hold a Regional Conference in Dubai, UAE. This is the very first time for IPBA to have an event in that important region of the world. The topic and speakers are yet to be decided, but be sure to save the date, and keep an eye on the Events Calendar of the IPBA web site for more details as they are finalized by the organizational team there, headed by IPBA Regional Coordinator for the Middle East, Richard Briggs.
