IPBA Membership Dues Payments for 2015

If your IPBA membership expires at the end of 2014, you've already received a notice to pay your dues for 2015 so you can continue to receive the many great benefits of being a member. Remember, too, that your dues must be paid in order to register for the 25th Annual Meeting and Conference in Hong Kong at the reduced IPBA Member rate!

Welcome, New Members!

Please give a welcome to the following new members who have joined since September.

IPBA Webmaster Christopher To, here! We have been working behind the scenes to bring you exciting changes to the IPBA web site. The current site has been up since 2009, which is quite old in terms of the internet. The new, completely redesigned IPBA web site will be launched within the coming weeks! New features have been incorporated to make your experience easier and more pleasant:

• easy log-in to the Member Only section using your e-mail address and a password you decide yourself
• larger, easier to read text
• quick connection to social media sites
• easy-to-read calendar of upcoming events
• and more!

There will also be enhanced security to protect your valuable private information. Don't forget to join our Facebook and LinkedIn pages, too!

Last chance to apply for the IPBA Scholarship Program 2015!

There are just a few more days left to apply for the IPBA Scholarship Program to attend the Annual General Meeting and Conference in Hong Kong, May 6-9, 2015! The deadline for applications is November 30th. This program is brought to you by the generous support of the Japan Fund, and the Vancouver 2014 Host Committee. Details of the program and an application form can be found on the IPBA web site, or click on the image at left.

IPBA Women Recognized at the
Euromoney Legal Group Asia Women in Business Law Awards 2014

On November 13th, the Euromoney Legal Group Asia Women in Business Law Awards was held in Hong Kong. Several IPBA members received awards, so please help us in congratulating the following:

• Annie Tsoi (Best in Patent and Trademark Prosectution, Individual)
• Fiona Loughrey (Outstanding Practioner, In-House)
• Goh Ka Im (Best in Tax, Individual)
• Kala Anandarajah (Best in Competition and Antitrust)

• Many IPBA jurisdictions are holding local and regional events! On October 23rd, IPBA held a joint seminar in conjunction with the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association, and offered event participation by Webinar. Coming up:
  - Amsterdam, November 21st
    IPBA Seminar: Mergers & Acquisitions
  - London, December 4th
    IPBA and Law Society: Asia Pacific Event
• The host committee of the IPBA 25th Annual General Meeting and Conference is making a promotional tour around the world. Destinations include Tokyo and Osaka this February. It's never too early to register for the conference! Early Bird registration ends on Febuary 6th.
