The Silent Auction Committee of the IPBA Scholarship Committee has decided that it would be most appropriate to contribute all of the proceeds of our 2011 IPBA Silent Auction to the Japanese Red Cross Society to assist in the relief efforts of the areas devastated by the recent earthquake and tsunami in Northern Japan. The extent of this tragedy is overwhelming and we wish to extend our support in whatever way we can towards those whose lives have been dramatically impacted by this event. Dear IPBA Members, The Inter-Pacific Bar Association Scholarship Committee is holding a Silent Auction fundraising event at the Kyoto Conference. Although originally intended to fund scholarships to our Conference for young lawyers and lawyers from developing countries, the proceed of the Silent Auction will now be contributed, with the consent of our donors, to the Japanese Red Cross Society to assist earthquake and tsunami victims following the devastating March tragedy in Northern Japan. Fabulous items have been donated by our generous members and their clients for you to bid on. We are pleased to announce that our Pre-Auction Online Brochure and bidding procedures are now available for your viewing and information on our web site at: http://www.ipba2011.org/silent_auction/images/Brochure3-23-11.pdf We think you will greatly enjoy looking at our Brochure and seeing all of the wonderful items that will be available for you to bid on, including vacation packages, deluxe hotel stays, dinners, and exquisite artifacts, wines, and chocolates. We hope you will take this opportunity to bid generously and support relief efforts in Japan through our Silent Auction!
