The Tax Committee seeks to inform its members and those who attend its sessions on the significant role which taxation plays in the structuring of all commercial activities and to make all lawyers aware of the necessity of taking into account taxation considerations in their day-to-day practice.
It also attempts to further an understanding of the taxation systems in the various countries in which members of the IPBA practice. The Tax Committee focuses specifically on issues which are likely to arise in the course of international trade and commerce, and seeks to work in conjunction with other committees of the IPBA to broaden the knowledge and understanding of its members of the necessity to integrate taxation and non-taxation issues in investment, trade and finance.
Noting that the speed of legislative change has accelerated in recent years to match the increasing complexity of international trade and commerce, the Tax Committee aims to keep members aware of legislative change.
Finally, by the communication between members, particularly those who attend the IPBA annual conventions, the Tax Committee aims to provide opportunities for members to obtain information and assistance in relation to international tax issues.
